The persistent suborbital occlusion sits writhing in the west. It dropped from the heavens, some say, or maybe it bubbled out of the ground or burst out of the space between air, three years past. Some call it the Shadow for how it negates the light, drowning everything it covers in opaque darkness. The sun no longer sets in the west: it disappears into the Shadow, and each evening you can hear prayers at every hearth that it returns unchanged the next day. Most things that enter the Shadow do not return, and if they do, they are seldom unchanged.

All who have Changed carry the seed of the Shadow. In untarnished soil, it burrows, it nestles, and it awaits a signal to be born.

THE DUNGEON NEAR THE SHADOW (Bastards. edition) is a revised and resized horror adventure for everyone's favorite old-style dragon game by Micah Anderson. Originally written and released in September 2021, this edition streamlines a couple of mechanical things, slims down an overwritten scene or two, enhances and expands the dungeon map, and hopefully provides a better conclusion and segue into further adventures beneath the horrid Shadow. What hasn't changed is the stunning character and monster art made available through Evlyn Moreau's Patreon (voted "Easily The Best Patreon" by me, just now).

Within the 10-room dungeon, you'll find:

• 6 townsfolk of a sort potentially conscripted into mercenary service
• 6 rumors to send the adventurous and foolhardy into certain doom
• 6 dungeon denizens to witness, pity, or slay at your discretion

All in a tidy, 24-page A6 format.
